New Product Development
Single-Use Laryngoscope System

Stainless steel laryngoscopes have remained unchanged for 50 years. They are disposed of after use and in developing countries their cost and energy source prove significant issues.

The challenge here was to improve the access to and the availability of laryngoscopes by significantly reducing costs - whilst at the same time improving on their functionality and ergonomics and also reducing cross infection.

Creating a new aesthetic for these laryngoscopes, appropriate to the nature of their innovation, ensured greater acceptance by a market which is notoriously traditional in its response to new forms and in particular to the use of polymers over more traditional metals and to a disposable in-built power supply.
